A Sea of Bikes

Now, if it were me, I'd crop some... leave just a sea of metal/chrome/leather/flags, cutting out the trees or sky and surroundings so that the photo is a sort of "modern art" image. It would be a different picture, though, losing any sense of the event involved. Again, my artsy-fartsy approach to photography...

Many years ago I watched a very talented friend crop her charcoal drawings from a three-week drawing class. She had probably 30 or 40 sketches and had to submit five of them for her grade. It was amazing to watch her chop, and of course she got an A... I've never forgotten how she created great art by "subtracting" from her originals.

Cropping will only work if you have a robust enough image to begin with. If your original is under say 500K in size, then cropping will not leave you with anything you can enlarge.
